Spreadsheet is the source of truth

The user’s spreadsheet is the source of truth. The app reads and shows numbers; it never writes to your files. What-if edits are never saved and never touch your files. Files are read directly in your browser. Nothing from a workbook is sent to a server.

Projected profit rule: Projected profit is revised contract minus projected cost. For complete jobs, projected cost is the actual cost. For in-progress jobs, projected cost is the larger of budget and actual costs (we never assume spending will stop at the budget). Margin % is projected profit divided by revised contract, and stays blank when contract is zero.

Job statuses: On hold means the client paused the job. Frozen means no money is left and work stops until a change order is approved. Statuses are edited on this page and are the only thing kept between visits (saved on this computer only).
